Last night we heard our resident coyote pack barking and yipping and howling very close to the cottage. I tried but couldn’t see them through the darkness, there’s no ambient light out here in the woods. But I am glad to hear them and to know they are there. It’s mating season, new pups on the way.

Reminder: evil is the thing that takes your attention away from what makes your heart feel full, from things that bring you peace and hope. You must keep making art & music, writing, dancing, planting, cooking good food, helping & loving and sharing all that with others. No matter what. /|\

The wild creatures who have adapted to our ways are adept at remaining out of sight. But they are here, and they will always be with us.

As we all learn how to become a ferocious effective opposition together in the coming months, a recommendation:
- amplify those trying to help, make us louder
- degrade/undermine (or ignore) the malevolent
- do not degrade/undermine those trying to help
We have limited capacity. Use it wisely.

For #SquirrelAppreciationDay 🐿️ here’s a 1727 illustrated record of a Southern Flying Squirrel from New Orleans who was brought to Versailles, where it amused the French court as it "would fly from one end of the room to the other" & "jump onto the ladies' necks and hide." www.loc.gov/resource/gdc...

Any visual artists out there who are blogging? Thinking about this as an alternative to Instagram. More image based content and minimal text. Would love advice on which platform to use. I have a Squarespace site for my portfolio, could just add a blog section. Or Wordpress? Substack? #artistsblogs

Wishing everyone everywhere peace and inspiration. Come what may, let us stand strong for all that is right and just. Let us defend those who are being mistreated, and live with kindness and respect as Martin Luther King hoped we would . Our task is clear. ❤️
