I was so excited to find this jumbo boy in The Hague Forest!! (I forgot to bring my euro for scale, so I had to use my finger.) I think this #mushroom might be a type of chicken-of-the-woods? #fungifriends

I'm visiting the Netherlands and scheduled a few hours to explore The Hague Forest. I was really excited to find some new #mushrooms to photograph. And what's the first one I find? Turkey tail. 8 hours on a plane, an hour on a train, just to find what I see every day back home 😂 #fungifriends

Found these guys in The Hague Forest and they have got the funniest name! From my ID app: "This #mushroom is not very tasty or cake-like. It became known in English as 'King Alfred's Cake' due to its resemblance to the British king's famous failed attempts at learning to bake." #fungifriends

Sometimes I wonder if anyone is secretly spying on me/recording me through my devices, and if they appreciate all the songs I make up about my dog more than she does. Today's was opera style, with "stinky baby" lyrics. A real bop imo #petmom #dogs #furbaby

While the tops of these 🍄 might appear similar at first glance, examining them from a different angle makes it easy to distinguish between the jagged pores of the violet-toothed polypore and the smooth bottom of the false turkey-tail. I love learning how to identify #mushrooms! #fungifriends
