As a writer I just want to know at which point my work ends and my editor's begins

I'm itching to write. Just to shut out everything for a while and immers mself in my world. The first draft is done, editing is slow process with more than one day jobs. It shouldn't be this slow probably, I constantly have the feeling I'm doing something wrong

I study publishing. My thesis' about amateur anthologies/short story contest where the works get published in some form. I'm Hun but want to compare our experiences with other countries. Have someone here organized a short story contest, edited or participated in one and would some answer questions?
