Happy to share I’ve moved into a new role at Meijer as a Principal Data Scientist. I’m grateful to have led such an incredible team, and I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned back in an IC role!

I tried to get AI to generate an image of Jalen Brunson gifting the Knicks NBA cup trophy to Trump. It just leads me to believe these AI models (gpt5.2, claude-sonnet-4.5, grok-4.1, and gemini-3-flash) are …

The real annoying thing about Claude Opus 4.5 is that it's impossible to publicly say "Opus 4.5 is an order of magnitude better than coding LLMs released just months before it" without sounding like a AI hype booster clickbaiting, but it's the counterintuitive truth, to my personal frustration.

Ideas I’d like to see come to fruition in 2026:
- Abolish curly apostrophes
- Replace discrete brake lights with more continuous-like brake lights

You should use AI while coding. You should also understand every piece of code you commit. Try to at least. Not everyone seems to agree. So here are 2 obvious signs that someone has mindlessly passed along Copilot generated python code:
- consistent, sentenced capitalized code comments
- filtered_df

I’ve tried convincing myself for the past 2 years that pyspark doesn’t stink. But it’s the worst. I can’t wait for something better to come along.

If you’re code requires .cache() to work properly, either your code stinks or the framework you’re using stinks.

Did I call my work AI at the time? No. Am I glad it gets called out as AI now? Yes. Should people have realized the value of this work years ago. Also yes. Looking at you, people I ultimately still like but wish things could have worked out differently 👀🐅 doi.org/10.1080/1058...

Pyspark where your code can be correct but because of weird spark things you must include a .cache() else you will leak data in each fold.
