What a small world…

Remember when I told you about the time I went to the park And this lady stared at me As she smiled the whole time I was there, As I was swinging and she was reminiscing? Well I saw her again, Not once, not twice, more times than three now, And I thought “What a small world.” Then I saw two rats that were fighting at the park, I saw them again, this time foraging instead of fighting, I saw them three times now, one gray and one brown, And I thought “What a small world.” Then I saw a guy walking his dog, he was on his phone, His dog without a leash, But the dog was old and you could tell Because he was trailing behind his human And he was all gray and patchy and walking really slowly, And I saw them five times now, Except one of the times, he had a woman with him, They walked with a stern stride And the man wasn't on his phone and they were talking And the poor old dog could barely keep up, And I thought “What a small world.” This may seem random but, I’ve been thinking of all these small coincidences lately. All the routines people make, Take out the dog at 6pm, Take the kids to the park at 5pm, Go on a leisurely walk at 4pm, At 9pm they leave the park to go back home for dinner time, At 8pm he talks to his distant relatives on the phone As he watches the lamps turn on, At 7pm she smokes a cigarette after a hard day at work, Gossips to her husband as he takes a drag. This may seem random but, All of these moments are just so human, And maybe who knows, Maybe at 10pm, someone is watching me from their windowsill As I watch the world. Maybe they're seeing me for the 20th time this time, Maybe they're thinking "What a small world."
