The most wonderful review of my grief memoir 'Precious Dreams and Living Nightmares ' on amazon (written under my own name - Kevin Burke - rather than my pseudonym). I am absolutely blown away.

Got to hand it to Mark at Underland Press for the fastest turnaround of an anthology I have ever known! Signed the contract at the weekend, and it'll be out in September. Astonishing!

Lovely start to the day... another of my stories has been accepted for an anthology. At least on the writing front, it's turning out to be a good year!

You wait ages for a piece of your work to be published, then two come out within weeks of each other! Very pleased to report that my contemporary horror story 'The Melusine Pact ' is in the current edition of Parsec magazine. Hurrah!

Been trying (unsuccessfully) to shed the Christmas pounds, so decided to give intermittent fasting a go during Lent (seemed appropriate)... and guess what? I'm losing weight! Who knew, right?

It's been a whirlwind four weeks since my grief memoir was published, and my heartfelt thanks go to all who have read it and said that it has helped them with their own grieving. Please feel free to share, in the hope that it might reach others who could find it beneficial. #grief

Vivid Worlds ToC and Cover Reveal
I hope you had a great World Book Day yesterday. Here at The Slab Press, we're having our Vivid Worlds Book Day today instead, because I get to announce the writers and stories that will be featuring in our upcoming solarpunk anthology - plus reveal the cover designed by Northampton artist Paul Alex Condie. It is still quite an auspicious day to announce the ToC, because March 7th is, very aptly the start of the 5th World Conference on Climate Change and Global Warming in Vienna, which is just the sort of event where they will be discussing the very sorts of ideas and innovations that the solar punk genre concerns itself with.

I am humbled by all the people who have said that they read my grief memoir in one sitting - unable to put it down - then have said such lovely things about it. I thank you all, truly.

I now feel officially old. In the dentist's waiting room this afternoon, a young man gave up his seat for me.

Goodreads seems to be completely flummoxed by the fact that I have written 'Precious Dreams and Living Nightmares ' under my own name. I'm sure it will be sorted eventually... *sigh* #writing #books

Trying to use the new version of Word with the ubiquitous 'copilot' AI 'assistant ' is like trying to teach a class of children with one hyper-enthusiastic pupil continually screaming "Me! Me! Use me! I know the answer! Ask me! Me! ME!"

Just received the proof copy of the book I've been working on throughout last year. Just need to check it and iron out any typos that may have snuck through, then I can release it into the wild!

Well, here we go... Andy Cox, whose Black Static magazine was the cornerstone of the UK dark/weird/horror fiction scene is back with a brand new thing. Remains, illustrated from start to finish by the amazing Richard Wagner, is a stunning new magazine of horror fiction.
