I'm an ffxiv msq apologist so take with a grain of salt, but I think given their track record that if it seems cbu3 is rehashing old plot points it's to subvert the expectation and take them in new directions. If the story seems intentionally familiar it probably is but not because lazy, yknow?

As someone guilty of this sometimes, I feel FFXIV's raid community has a weird barrier to entry involving making people learn a massive dictionary of outdated terminology and there comes a point when you have to start wondering if sometimes it's a little bit of intentional gatekeeping by some folks.

While it's Random Acts of Kindness Week, there are still some people out there who do the exact opposite.
