Legion Remix is a Fun, Sometimes Frustrating Ride Through WoW’s Greatest Expansion
I haven't had much to say yet about Legion Remix in the nearly 3 weeks it has been live because I wanted to kind of play it and see how I felt. And, uh…I think I played it enough to have a take! The Remix formula established with Mists of Pandaria Remix last year is a basic premise - you immerse fully into a single expansion's content, only having the option to play it and nothing else, with accelerated leveling, vastly higher ceilings of power, a boatload of cosmetic things to buy during the event (including some rare drop things you can still technically obtain in the live game), and a vague hint of a story involving the Dragonflight lore establishment of an alliance between some Infinite dragons and the Bronze where the leader of the allied Infinites can conduct experiments in existing timelines to see what might result from changes.

One of the major changes (arguably a marquee change alongside player housing) coming in World of Warcraft's Midnight expansion is the largest set of changes to the WoW addon API that has been seen since the game first launched. Blizzard's core philosophy on addons is changing to a more hardline stance against combat-facing addons, and the change is more sweeping than we previously thought.

The War Within Season 3 – Goals Check-In!
Season 3, the last season of The War Within, is in full swing and I wanted to write today to document my journey with it. Unlike other times, I don't have an in-progress update or anything, because short of some fresh KSM alts and my guild getting AotC…I'm done. I hit Keystone Legend and Resilient +12s, I have all the crest achievements except the Gilded one (need another 5 ilvl average on my Druid for that!), I personally got AotC this last week, I've done the raid on both normal and heroic on a few characters, and so yeah, my goals are just a few more KSM alts, that Gilded crest achievement, AotC with my guild, and knocking out the rest of the LFR and Normal transmogs for tier sets (I'm already 4 classes deep with more to go!).

World of Warcraft Midnight’s Grand Unveiling
Midnight's big reveal was about a month ago, and in the time since then we've had the usual drip-feed of news from a mix of official Blizzard panels at the Gamescom event in Germany and interviews with favorable press outlets, mostly big mainstream ones and close, highly-positive creators. (A quick side-bar, not trying to shade those creators too much, but there's a degree of obsequiousness in their coverage that I tend to dislike, which is a big part of why I largely don't watch WoW creators doing news or analysis these days.) This reveal was an interesting one, because Blizzcon 2023 and the whole nature of the Worldsoul Saga has given us a curveball - unlike last time, or really any expansion reveal ever, we didn't have a complete question mark of what was coming.

The Over and Under-Mining of The War Within’s Second Season

The Over and Under-Mining of The War Within’s Second Season
Season 2 of The War Within is in the books. How was it? The Raid Liberation of Undermine was, to me, interesting in both positive and negative ways. Let's start with the positive. The flavor of the raid overall is excellent, and while I wasn't a fan of using the overworld map with slight tweaks as the majority of the raid zone, it makes a certain amount of sense and also pays dividends in storytelling since you move into the casino for the high-ranking enemies, which adds that revolutionary feeling coupled with the notion of corrupt, self-serving leadership in Gallywix.

Ghosts of K’aresh – Some Thoughts on WoW’s Patch 11.2
The benefit of writing drafts and then sitting on them is I don't put out wildly incorrect takes, but I am going to peel the curtain a bit and discuss how the recent announcement of Ghosts of K'aresh caught me off-guard. K'aresh is Cool… As a finale patch zone, K'aresh is a great zone. I had the opportunity to check it out on PTR and do some questing there, and while the questing is bog-standard WoW, the zone atmosphere and setting are easily 10/10.

The War Within Season 2 – Oops, I Did All My Goals Three Months Early Edition
I've been talking about some of the individual goals I've had throughout season 2 of The War Within, but today, with the Turbo Boost set to launch in a day and the season's scaling set to ease up through those power gains, I wanted to check in, because I hit a first ever record for myself in the game - short of tertiary goals like leveling a few more alts or gear levels on alts, I'm basically done with my original seasonal goals in their entirety.

World of Warcraft’s Official Rotation Helper, One-Button Mode, and The Case For Easing The Game
One of the more interesting statements about patch 11.1.7 this week, in what ended up being a deluge of patch news, was that Blizzard is adding a rotation assistance mode and a one-button rotation to the game. As part of their freshly-declared war against computational combat addons, this makes sense, yet as a first salvo in said war, it is, on first glance, a bit baffling of a call.

On Saturday night, April 26th, 2025, I did it - I obtained The War Within Season Two - Keystone Legend achievement. It was essentially a buzzer beater, as I hit 3,000 Mythic Score right on the nose, with Raider.IO saying my score is 2,999.9, which makes me glad that Blizzard's own tabulation said "close enough" and rewarded the achievement! So, how was it?

The Road To (Keystone) Legend – An Update on Season 2 of The War Within and My Progress
Last time I wrote about my journey with The War Within Season 2, I reflected quite heavily on my personal play, and what I felt about my own skill and ability to push to the new-this-season Keystone Legend achievement and second seasonal mount. The reflection there, coupled with some time spent on alts, gave me what I needed to start pushing - and so while it is unusual for me to document my progress in this new era where I write roughly once a month, while I am not…

Firstly, this has been the first Mythic Plus season where I have earned every single portal available for timing +10 and up keys.

Looking Back On The War Within’s First Season
The War Within's first season has been interesting for me as I try to reconcile two key points about it and my interaction with it - it wasn't a particularly great season of content but I also engaged with it so thoroughly that it is difficult for me to have much bad to say about it. On the surface, here's the challenge - the game has certainly seen better seasons of content.

Approachability is Key – Some Thoughts on The War Within’s First and Second Mythic Plus Seasons
I'm going to use today's post to warm up talking about the upcoming content season in World of Warcraft's The War Within expansion. It's because before discussing the season, my goals in it, my progress and attainment during Season 1, I want to put forward a theory - the best, most popular Mythic Plus seasons in WoW are the ones that are the most approachable.

I got to work finishing up my TWW Season 1 goals this week, and a big one was Keystone Hero, which I have a lot of thoughts about!
I Got Keystone Hero, So I Have More Thoughts About The War Within’s First Mythic Plus Season
This week, I went back to start cleaning up the remaining goals I had for The War Within's first season of content. That involved finishing up Glory of the Nerub-ar Raider for the cool mount it gives, and then most importantly, knocking out an additional bit of rating in Mythic Plus for Keystone Hero to get the glowy effects for all versions of the current season tier sets.

I blundered through Plunderstorm in about 6 hours and have some thoughts about how this version is way better for small changes made.
Blizzard Did It – They Made Me Like Plunderstorm
Last week, Blizzard returned to retail WoW with the battle royale mini-mode Plunderstorm, enabling it for a monthlong window during the doldrums of Season 1 of The War Within. Plunderstorm is an interesting and contentious mode, largely because of some flaws with that first round implementation, and Blizzard did something really commendable here…they actually kinda fixed it. Let's get into it.
