Another one read for my Big Books in DecemBRRR!

Kingdom of Ash by @sarahjmaas.bsky.social
6🌟

7th and final in the series, and one of the best books I’ve ever read. Ton of POVs, and I cared about each person and plot line! Just incredible. And the heartbreak 🥹

Exactly what you’ve heard. Absolutely a heart wrencher. Trigger warnings galore.

This was a tough read. Auto 5 ⭐️ for making me weep like a baby partway thru.

The Devils Brother by Dharshaini G
4.5🌟

Loved this thriller/mystery novel steeped in folk-horror! Features a morally grey MMC you can’t help but cheer on. If you are a fan of Japanese or Korean style horror films, highly recommend this one!

Julia Song is Undateable by @susanleewrites.bsky.social
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Humorous kdrama level hijinks, balanced with real life gut punches regarding familial expectations and pressure, imposter syndrome, and aging family members. Characters felt real and genuine! 🥹

Rules for Ghosting by @shellyjayshore.bsky.social
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I blubbered like a baby!

A perfect paranormal queer romance. Themes of grief, love, dignity and gender inclusivity, Jewish cultural appreciation, and the classic conflict of loving your family even if you don’t like them. I loved it! 💙📚

3.5⭐️

This was so much more than a Cinderella retelling! Darker than I expected, and the love triangle actually had me switching sides repeatedly! Only downside… it was a bit of a slog in the middle… 💙📚

DANG. This was a great read. My first foray into his writing, and I loved it! Plot was intriguing and thrilling, with a dash of mystery and sci-fi that felt realistic and terrifying at the same time. Possibly the best read of the year!
