This ant will sit on the porch and regale you with stories of its wild youth in crust bands over a couple of pints of homebrew.
Have just discovered a creature called the northern hairy wood ant.
So called because it has hairy eyebrows.

My weekend is complete.

I'm trying to start each morning with poetry & today it's the turn of Near Future by @suzannahevans.bsky.social (Nine Arches Press). Also re-reading Riddley Walker atm so this poem felt esp appropriate. Find me under the burntree when the lights go out

Just finished a poem called 'We broke the moon'. Thanks to @lukekennard.bsky.social and @bohdanpiasecki.bsky.social for unintentionally gifting me the title via their interview in Poetry Review. Apologies to the poor moon, which is just trying to do its job & must really fucking hate poets by now

Gonna be hosting this totally lush event tomorrow, intro-ing the amazing speakers and doing some cheeky little poems before all the talks. Come say hi!
Bring seeds, plant seeds, hang out with a load of brilliant folks using growing as a way of pushing back against the culture of oversconsumption

Love that I get to hang out in indie bookshops chatting lesbian history and call it 'work'
had such a good time at my first book event last night with @gloucesterroadbks.bsky.social and @katlyonsartist.bsky.social - actually kinda beautiful to see lesbian and queer community in action and to talk about the important of telling our stories for ourselves 💚🩷

Hello! This is my first post and I have no idea what to say and I can't be witty or poetic before coffee so here's a pic of my fave ever tiny mushroom friend wearing an even tinier mushroom as a stylish little hat instead.
