📺 A TV team from NDR visited our @dhprlab.bsky.social to learn about our current research & why boredom plays a powerful role in human behavior.

You can spend three (German, but hopefully not boring) minutes watching it here: www.ndr.de/fernsehen/se...

P.S. Thumbnail is not footage from our lab 😁

📢 New paper 🤩

w/ @katjarewitz.bsky.social & @corimartarelli.bsky.social, we used Bayesian network analyses to study the relationship between exercise boredom, effort value & self-reported exercise behavior.

TL;DR: high boredom & low value -> less exercise

Had a great time presenting our ideas on the utility of studying explore-exploit trade-offs in #sports at the ASP Conference in Bochum!

I appreciate the nice turnout - especially for such an early morning session after the social evening 😜🙏

🎉 First preprint from my PhD! #excited

We suggest that sport & exercise psych should adopt formal decision models to study how high-stakes contexts and self-regulatory demands shape the explore-exploit trade-off.

A few days ago, Yannick Ramsel visited us for an upcoming article he'll publish at @zeit.de. In the pic, you can see him bravely volunteering as a test subject for that. Stay tuned! 😉 // @katjarewitz.bsky.social
