Gonna get an MMR booster shot.
RFK JR on Measles Outbreaks just now: "It is not unusual. There are measles outbreaks every year."

It is actually very unusual. This is the first Measles death in the US in 10 years.

Feeling so sad about the confluence of these fires in LA, the coming change in national leadership, and Jimmy Carter's funeral and legacy. This meme sums up a lot of how I'm experiencing current events.

I'd completely forgotten about this ridiculous, petty response by RR. The cruelty has always been the point.
In 1979, Jimmy Carter had solar panels installed at the White House.

Ronald Reagan had them removed.

We may be able to trace back the current "Do Harmful Things if it Trolls the Libs" Republicanism to Reagan removing those panels the far more forward thinking Carter had installed.

I realized I've been in a state of suspended denial about the incoming president. Now he's even more visible in the media than ever and my anxiety and dread are skyrocketing. This is real, huh. Anyone else?

One of my 4 sisters voted for the former/future president. I was so sickened by the election results I couldn't talk to her for days. She reached out and asked why I "threw her away." It's not about politics. It's about values. I still can't bring myself to restart a relationship and it eats at me.

Remember, when you go into surgery, bring your own anesthesia in case the timer goes off while you're under--you can dose yourself.

We're beginning to realize and it's nauseating.
This.
There seems to be a vast under-appreciation for the lines we’ve crossed and the world we’re in.

Trump’s win has basically put us in a post-rules world.

People in power don’t feel constrained by rules and any remaining checks don’t feel empowered to be checks.

This reality has not set in yet.

The day after 11/5 I had what I called a "hope hangover." this explains it.
Rebel Optimism: How We Thrive in a Broken World
The world is crumbling in real time—I’m not here to argue that point. We’ve got rising seas swallowing cities, political chaos run by arsonist clowns with their pants on fire trying to set everything ...
