CT State Representative (20th District)
Today I protested. And yet at the same time I was showing up & continuing to use my voice, State Rep. Melissa Hortman & her husband, Mark died & State Sen. John Hoffman & his wife Yvette were undergoing life saving surgery because of a politically-motivated shooter on their doorsteps.

“There was an incredible moment, being able to walk out and meet up with the many advocates and parents in the hallways as they cheered, because this is the result of decades and decades of work,” Farrar said.”

Trump's tariffs are a tax on nearly everything we buy hurting working families like you and me - all to to fund another massive tax break for billionaires.

It's just another reason why we have to deliver for families in Connecticut with a permanent child tax credit.

The Administration for Children & Families (ACF) put all staff in the Office of Head Start & Office of Child Care in our Region 1 on paid leave effective immediately.

Any disruption of funding will have a major impact on Connecticut's children, families and our economy. #trumpattackskids

A state child tax credit “has to be part of the solution,” said state Rep. Kate Farrar, a member of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee and a leader of the pro-credit effort. “We can’t possibly expect our families, who are already struggling, to suffer even more.” ctmirror.org/2025/03/13/c...

A federal funding freeze continues to threaten Connecticut's refugee resettlement organizations, preventing them from providing essential services to our residents. Read from Rep. Leeper and I why that matters and what we must do: ctmirror.org/2025/02/25/c...
Opinion: Connecticut must continue to welcome all
We have thousands of refugees already here in Connecticut who we have promised to support. We should not break that promise.

One of the many funding items now under the leadership of RFK Jr. is the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) which is the primary federal funding source for CT childcare.

No matter what comes next I’ll continue to protect and fight for our children and families here in Connecticut.
