In '89, France celebrated the 200th anniversary of French Revolution & I was asked to be part of this exhibition. Alas, I cannot translate the words from the opening page (if you can, please illuminate for us what it says!) but I was thrilled to be part of an amazing group of illustrators...1/2

From scientist Matthew Cappucci: "The NOAA aircraft that was investigating Melissa today had to leave the storm early due to "severe turbulence." Melissa is STILL intensifying.
This is extremely rare. The aircraft are BUILT for severe turbulence and extreme conditions. "Melissa is truly a monster.""

Cycling Solidarity is a group of cyclists in Chicago that goes out daily to buy all the food from street vendors. This effort allows the vendors to finish their shifts early, enabling them to return home safely to their families.

C'mon Iowans in #IA02
It's time to retire Ashley Hinson.
She just voted to hinder the right to vote for married women in Iowa.

My quirky print that came about after we brought, Biscuit, our pup home. I was thinking about how so many people need to know they are cherished, they are valued---they are meant to be here.

For Women's History Month, may we all remember and summon the courage of Rachel Carson, who wrote Silent Spring to inform the world what DDT was doing to the songbirds, raptors, and by extension, us. While battling cancer, she stood her ground against savage attacks by the chemical industry...

Join me in thanking these Republicans for voting no.
We know what happens to Republican lawmakers in Iowa who dare cross the extremists. (see primaries last few years)
The Iowa House approved the trans discrimination bill by 60 votes to 36.
Republicans voting no:
Michael Bergan
Austin Harris
Brian Lohse
Norlin Mommsen
David Sieck
(Chad Ingels who I thought might be a no vote was absent today)

Zach Nunn #IA03 doesn't hold town halls, period. Randy Feenstra #IA04 has rarely if ever done so.
Mariannette Miller-Meeks #IA01 and Ashley Hinson #IA02 occasionally hold telephone town halls, where their staff control who can be heard and who can ask a question.
Republicans won’t schedule town halls? Then go to their offices, their homes, their campaign HQs, and host your own. Bring a megaphone and tell stories about how what Trump and the GOP are doing is hurting ordinary Americans. Remind every last one of them who they really answer to.

Here's a story about bullying & hard wired responses.

I was in early elementary years and in my family we didn't have birthday parties. My parents kept it simple: a homemade baked cake & ice cream after supper on your birthday. A dollar in the mail from an auntie, new markers for art supplies.
