Yes! Our wins matter no matter how big or small or how shitty the world is right now.
Listen, things are fucked, but that doesn’t mean your accomplishments don’t matter. Wrote a book? Got accepted to a program? Recorded a song? One year sober? Whatever it is, share it. Maybe your joy will bring someone else a bit of joy, and we all need that.

Did an intuitive painting on paper today to channel some of my feelings with all that’s going on. Letting it out and letting it go.

I recently sold this painting, “Place to Rest,” to someone who has long loved it. Feels timely.

Sharing a new painting I just completed as a timeline cleanse. Take a break. Make art. Read a book. Bake some bread or cake. Take a walk. Do whatever you have to do to take care of yourself. ❤️ Drift Away, 36x48, mixed media on canvas

I wish I made protest art. I’ve tried in the past but it feels very contrived for me. But I guess in my own way, I do. I paint emotions, feelings, and the things you can’t put into words. I’m going to be doing a lot of painting. SMH

Getting ready to work on an artist client’s website and the computer decides it needs to update, of course. 🙄

One of my favorite things to do is paint abstract landscapes to get lost in. A place to wander, inquire, feel, experience. This is Through The Marsh, 30x40, mixed media on canvas.

Yes!! There are lower cost options like DIY, etc. (shameless plug - check out katcollinsdesign.com) But get it done!

I’m waiting to hear about 7 different applications for art shows. The waiting is the hardest part. Ugh.

Being a full time artist is scary, challenging, rewarding, fulfilling, and a bit nutty. 😜

Baked a coconut cake today. I’m not a baker so 🤞🏻! At least it looks good! Will try it later.

Just shared where my inspiration comes from on my IG in a long, poetic post. Basically it’s nature. I summed it up here. 😂

While I get the crowdsourcing “community notes” confirming or disproving facts might be a better option idealistically, in reality it doesn’t work. 1) it takes too long for the post to update with the result before millions share it; 2) people can’t be trusted in today’s political environment.

I’m working on a mixed media painting series based on water called Ebb and Flow. Here’s a couple of them done so far.
