After careful consideration, I have decided to cut some scenes I had originally planned for Shadows Book 1, which will result in the story ending sooner than expected. Although I still have a few chapters left to write, there are significantly fewer than I had initially envisioned. Why were the scenes cut? There are several reasons for this, but it ultimately boils down to two key factors.

I'm getting closer and closer to finishing Shadows, Book 1. With only a handful of chapters left, Shadows 1 already rests at 67,408 words. Book 2 has stalled somewhat. I'm figuring out how much of Book 1 to include for a smooth story flow. The initial chapters of Book 2 take place before the events of Book 1. I plan to incorporate the events from Book 1 before I continue with the story line of Book 2.

As I get closer to finishing the first draft of Shadows 1, I realize I don't have much of a social media presence to promote the book. So, I finally created an Instagram. Honestly, I'm not sure if I'll post much since my confidence is at a 0.5 level lol, but feel free to follow me there as well.

Chapter 11 of Shadows 1 is finally done. It was a tough one to write, but it eventually just flowed. I didn't get to all the events that needed to happen as it found a natural resting place. I love how even when this story gets complicated the wordcount still skyrockets anyway. #writer #writing

Shadow 1 has: 51,294 words, 10 completed chapters
Shadow 2 has: 19,461 words, 4 completed chapters
I'm going to officially be in a hotel this afternoon, and I'm hoping that being in a new space for a few days will help the word counts continue to climb.

I finally plotted the rest of Shadows book 1 and found that only six chapters are left. The book has grown quickly! I'm excited, but also terrified, about finding an editor and creating a book cover. This project is my baby, and I want to get things as close to perfect as I can. #writing #writer

My vacation finally starts today and I'm hoping to get shit ton of writing done this week while I'm off. Word counts are still climbing for both Shadows books and I've even started seeing sneak peaks of a possible new project. I might even delve into a horror story that I started years ago as well.

I wish people would give more detailed content warnings. I hate when I'm halfway through a book and then have to abandon it.

The problem with trying to write at work is that I cant spread out all my notes in front of me. I’ve got to figure a way to condense them down in a pdf or something. I keep getting this horrible feeling that I've written certain conversations over and over again. So far I've been wrong, but still.
