Just had the best encounter with a Merlin I’ve ever had! A Female at @RSPBFrampton sitting on the cattle fence, less than 10m from us, we watched it for 10 minutes! And did we have the cameras with us?…. 😫

Absolutely mind blowing irruption of Hawfinches, I feel very privileged to have had so many over my sound recorder, over the last 8 days I’ve had 119 calls all recorded over my garden.
Lucky to have seen 4 by the churchyard, 2 over the parkland and 2 over my garden! #hawfinch

Interesting phenomenon on this mornings sea watch from Ventnor, Isle of Wight, several hundred Swallows, House Martins and Sand Martin coming straight in off the sea heading North, migrants from Europe meandering? Or British migrants turning back after starting the sea crossing?
