Thats the weird part for me too! Back around 2s launch I feel like I had to correct so many peoples actual assumptions about just *how* bad blizz had fucked it and paying for heroes was one of em, people deadass thought thats what was going on the whole time. Feel like im in an alternate dimension!!

Im not saying this as in "nothings wrong with the game lalalala" im just saying i notice a trend where everything it does makes people 50 times more upset than if it happened anywhere else and things that they otherwise wouldnt care about anywhere else become other objects to shit on

Like it feels as performative as the "avatar had no cultural impact" shtick that people still put on, where theyre kinda doing it just to do it. nobody even knows what theyre mad about anymore, the snowballs just got too big and is moving under its own power
