Someone should do an #EmbodiedCarbon assessment of the proposal natural gas plant... when considering #UpfrontCarbon, is it actually an overall reduction?

"The plant would allow an overall net reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, the utility says."

HUGE.
“California will start selling low-cost insulin in January, becoming the first state in the nation to bypass Big Pharma with its own supply of the expensive diabetes drug and marking a notable win in Gov. Gavin Newsom’s push to rein in health care costs with state-branded drugs.”

Serious question #Fredericton: where can you hang downtown on a Friday night that's not a bar/pub or restaurant? Where are the cafes that are open after 6 or 7? #ThirdSpaces #Vibrant #Cities

I love fall in #NewBrunswick. Clear blue skies, fresh, crisp air, the colours changing, farmers markets glories.

Yikes… is this where the UK is at?
Keir Starmer's aides are reportedly telling him not to go to the COP30 climate conference, because Reform would attack him for it.
Yes, they might.
And he should wear it as a badge of honour.
Standing up for humanity, for science and a habitable planet.
Where's the hazard in that?

Who seriously would rather have the new Freddy middle school up at the top of the roundabout at Bishop’s Drive? So almost no kids can walk/bike/roll to school? And have to cross a highway?

Responding on here to some wild FB commentary re #FREX lands news.

I am so happy I started crying. Thank you, City of #Fredericton council! We need this area redeveloped and urgently need a new, south side core middle school and housing.

How wonderful would it be if the Wolastoq (StJ River) had beach access for swimming right downtown? Paris, now Chicago. Clearly it’s possible!

Economics... I've spent literally my entire career in sustainability and people always hide behind economics. Know what costs the PROVINCE? Paying for people's healthcare, illnesses that are linked to enviro toxins that can be controlled. Do the work and clean it up. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

I’m so happy no kid will have to start the school day hungry.

… the apathy is real here. Is it Covid fatigue? Cost of living? Simmer? All of the above? Or being comfortable for so long and not wanting to disrupt the status quo?

I have research expertise in biophilia/biophilic design and an MSc in Env Psyc. Couple of things here:
1. Yes, this is a problem (in Freddy, too)
2. #Nature is more than green space (blue space is huge)
3. SJ has some beautiful microexp of nature (see next comment) 1/2

www.cbc.ca/player/play/...
When it comes to green space, Saint John ranks last in the country
According to Statistics Canada, just 3.8 per cent of land in the port city is covered by parks, and that has implications for individual and community health.

Hey everyone? This is the planet telling us we have made her sick. It’s climate change. Maybe it’s not popular (?) to call it as it is, but that’s what is happening. It’s not just a blip. Just look at how many days soccer has been cancelled this summer (I know!)
