I’m not sure how much dissertation defense norms have changed since I had mine in 2019, but I was not ready to see two attendees knitting at the defense I attended today. It had nothing to do with knot theory/topology.

How do you feel about having two Quadratic Formulas? Is there room for two?

For all those math and/or ed people jumping over here to Bluesky, here I am. I plan on keeping X for my general rubbish tweets, but will use Bluesky for only math-related stuff (for now) since this seems to be the new Hoth of the math education world.
