Oil painting is such an abstract concept to me, I would love to hear any tips and tricks people have for finding their style in the medium.

One of the critiques that stuck with me in my last oil class was that my brushstrokes seemed to be sporadic. Are we calculating this stuff?? I'm so lost lol
