My first time I not only got to see a green heron (Butorides virescens) in person, but capture it with my camera! #nature #naturephotography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #birdphotography #birdwatching #outdoorphotography

This was my first shot of anything above a common #butterfly this year! First hidden among the grass I was walking through, I thought I missed my chance as it took flight. Luckily, it landed close and was nice enough to pose, wings spread!

Still working on converting any old Adobe files I might want in the future before canceling my subscription for good; also getting familiar with a new (and free) replacement for Lightroom. The learning curve feels steep but well worth it. Free open source software is like manna from heaven.

Within the next month or 2, I'm working on freeing myself from my Adobe software shackles; it's going to take time to get used to other software, but when my monthly Adobe sub price went up by $6 with no changes to the plan, I knew it was time for me to quit. 🔗 #photography #workflow

There's a mating pair of mallard #ducks 🦆(Anas platyrhynchos) that have become regulars in my area; I'm hoping that means I can expect to see #ducklings in the near future! 🐣 #naturephotography #birds #wildlife #birdphotography

Sometimes #spiders will accidentally find themselves inside my work building; I do my best to safely catch and relocate them back outside in the grass as it seems no one else will go near them, unless to squish them. This is my record of last year's SRC (Spider Rescue Count). 🕷️ #nature

After a morning walk through a construction site, I found a #rock with a cool #spiral in it. Perhaps a #fossil find? I'm too scared of breaking it to attempt to crack it apart! #rockhound 🐚

When I was younger, I always thought it was "morning dove", not "mourning", since you'd hear them early in the morning. These little guys don't look so sad to me. #birdphotography #wildlife #moon #bird #blueskyphotography #birb #wildlifephotography #nature

Someone at my local #gasstation has been having fun with putting #stickers on the pumps.
I even had to crouch down low to see the running kid #meme one; it was like a fun little hidden easter egg!

Sometimes when out in the wild, these weird, large metal #birds are the only ones I manage capture in #flight. #airplane #aviation #avgeek

When out on a photo walk, it can be helpful to keep an eye to the sky; not only to capture some cool sights of #wildlife, but also to get a good neck stretch in. I got to practice some moving subject #photography with this turkey vulture (Cathartes aura). #birdphotography #naturephotography #nature

Never had a Twit/X account, yet I knew how much of a cesspool that place had become. As a photographer, realizing IG now favored more TikTok type content and influencers, not photos. So I decided to hop on here, hoping for a more "fresh" social media experience.

If Ezma insists on interrupting my at-home photo studio work, then she's going to get her photo taken. She's also unknowingly being a great model of how nicely bounce lighting can work! #catsofbluesky #pets #cats
