9. And are therefore seeing it where it NEVER EXISTED. BambuLabs hasn't done anything wrong. Despite claims on Reddit, they haven't Bricked anyone's machine for using 3p software they haven't forced users to pay more to unlock features they previously used for free. And they're actively working...

8. Could they have handled it better, given the widespread panic online? Sure. But also... The people panicking are morons and there is no basis for the fears they're repeating. It's hard to control for morons, morons are unpredictable. People are terrified right now about corporate overreach ...

6. For those 3p software to be integrated into the ecosystem of Bambu, and are working with them on the protocols.
There's zero indication that they're "actively closing" the ecosystem and policing 3p apps, this is ONE series being affected, with transparent disclosure of the vulnerability addressed

The morons on reddit claiming this is a stepping stone to Bambu forcing users to subscribe or be limited to x kg of prints per month are extremist reactionaries causing anxiety and chaos in the community. Literally nothing in this does any of that. And Bambu had said they have a way, BambuConnect

4. I don't own a Bambu printer. I'm planning to buy one, this quarter, and it is likely to be a Bambu A1, a not affected model.
And I plan to stay in the Bambu ecosystem anyway, using their slicer and at first their filaments until I get my feet under me

3. Note they aren't doing this for the P1 series, or A1 series models, only the X1. And they aren't closing ALL 3rd party software access, just those which allow people to take control of your machine, Including some settings that apparently let hackers lock you yourself out.

Pt 2v the community as a whole is reacting as if Bambu is destroying freedom and has lynched liberty, and this is a doom omen of an eventual closed ecosystem where you will never use 3rd party filament or models and will even according to some, pay a subscription to print anything at all.

So, I have some thoughts about the recent #bambulabs Firmware update "scandal".
First, for those unaware, Bambu labs is updating their X1 printers to disable some functions across LAN, specifically those which let 3rd party apps use the printer, like slicers etc. Their claim is this closes exploits.
