💯! @betoorourke.bsky.social is a no BS fighter!

We’re 4-5 grassroots ppl that organized a rally in deep red Fulshear demanding our TX-22 Rep hold a town hall. 50-60 ppl turned up!

13 days later Beto/Walz are here, holding the town hall! 🤯

Donated to marquettegreenescott.com so she can win 2026!
I only see names of ppl in federal government on that list.

Not ppl from local government - state, county, city, etc.
February 6, 2026 at 1:36 PM
Only assumption I made was that you actually want to address the problem.

That is more effectively done locally, and I was pointing that out.

Don’t know why that assumption triggered “GTFOH! JFC!”
February 6, 2026 at 1:34 PM
US Congress is controlled by GOP. This is better addressed to your local Democrats.

State, County, City can block these purchases.

…if your goal is to actually combat these detention centers, and not just to criticize Dems in senate.

Not according to Reich.

- state set limitations on corps
- overturn in SCOTUS
- rewrite constitution

You know most super PACs are SPV LLMs.
February 6, 2026 at 1:02 PM
…and those nations it’s the parliament/congress that passes the no-confidence vote.

Basically like our impeachment process. Which GOP block.

Norway is ranked 1st in Democracy Index and also have fixed terms.

The US solution isn’t to end fixed terms.
February 6, 2026 at 12:58 PM
Meh, if it was that easy and effective then R Reich would have proposed that.

He has spent ages looking for a path. I trust his expertise more than a random guy with a law degree.
February 6, 2026 at 12:52 PM
Most of those are in the Democratic platform.

The candidates on Left are just lying about it to sow division.
February 6, 2026 at 12:45 PM
Corporations are incorporated in states, not at federal level.

You’ve misunderstood R Reich’s proposal. He knows the law and highlights it would require passage at state level.

Cos that want to leverage CU would just “move” to red states.

So, that means changing SCOTUS or Constitution is it.
February 6, 2026 at 12:36 PM
I agree. It was a constitutional overreach at the time in UK.

But UK has the benefit of their constitutional law being easy to update / change. And it did.

I dislike how immutable our US constitution is.

It’s no secret that of all the places in the world to honeymoon, Bernie chose Moscow. Spent a lot of that time with KGB communists.

This was 1988 - during the Cold War.

There are some hard-to-find videos and write-ups about that trip.

His praise of Communist Cuba and Socialist Chavez are online.
February 5, 2026 at 5:58 PM
That image isn’t fully correct.

In UK before they had rules against felons being able to get elected.

So incumbents / candidates would invent charges against their opponents to block their election.

So they change the rules so felons could also run.

That is why US rules are as they are.

Imagine if four years into our war in Iraq we had only occupied 20 percent of it and lost 1.2 million men. Would anyone say the US is winning?

No? Then how in the hell can you say Russia is winning?!

Core of DSA is Marxist communists and socialists.

Then Bernie lied and described Scandinavia as socialist. Many gullible ppl believed him and joined.

So now DSA is working hard to redefine the common meaning of “socialism” to lure more into DSA.

Bernie admires USSR, Castro’s Cuba and Vz’ Chavéz.
February 5, 2026 at 4:59 PM
Meaning?
February 5, 2026 at 4:47 PM
That’s not actually true.

They start massive peaceful protests, and most of the time the fascists lose over time.
February 5, 2026 at 6:09 AM
As a white woman I wish they would abandon Trump!

I do a lot of canvassing in TX. The ones I meet that are abandoning GOP / MAGA tend to be men.

Men that are minorities (mainly Hispanic but also others) are open to discussing voting blue in 2026. All white men so far: “I’m never voting again”.

With a religion rooted in child exploitation?
Whodathunkit?

Remember when one of TPUSA schools was busted for child sexual assault?

Many forgot because all that mattered to ”the left” in 2024 was “Gaza.”
So, here we are.🤷🏻‍♂️
February 5, 2026 at 12:34 AM
It’s not the lack of balls. It’s that Trump controls all 3 branches, so their power is v limited.

I suspect you know that. So, just an unwarranted attack on the party.

It’s also unjust. Look at the fight by TX Quorum Breakers, followed by Govs Hochul, Pritzker and Newsom!

Look at MN re ICE!

Weird to see so many people here trying to make excuses.

1. there isn’t enough info in the mention to know if he’s innocent or involved.

2. Don’t assume one way or the other based on personal like/dislike.

3. And don’t try to make up excuses for him in advance!
February 5, 2026 at 4:21 AM
He also showed his ignorance at the debate.

Said a key priority for him if elected would be for Congress to overturn CU.

CU was decided as a 1st Amendment issue. You can’t override CU by legislation! It would by def be unconstitutional!

Inside scoop I’ve been told by someone there:

TX Progressive endorsement of Talarico was coz the members tasked w presenting background + arguments for Crockett simply ignored the task.

Too often Left seems to have an issue w esp black women.
February 5, 2026 at 4:03 AM
Some of the worst dog whistle / racist attacks were the w/e between Jasmine saying she had an announcement soon, and when she actually announced.

It was classic Lis Smith (Talarico’s hire) astroturfed attack across all social media.

Talarico stood silently on the side and did nothing to stop it!
February 5, 2026 at 3:59 AM
This is an important thread! #Texas #Democrats #Senate #Primary

The blatant racism fm way too many #Talarico supporters is disappointing. Esp the w/e before @jasmineforus.bsky.social announced.

Not surprising since he has hired notorious Lis Smith - she brags of copying Trump’s comm strategy. 🤮
I’m not a Texan, but it’s hard to ignore what’s happening in the Democratic Senate primary in the state. We’re all clocking it, right?

Let’s start with what should be obvious: whoever wins the Democratic nomination, we Dems should support him or her.

A special big thank you to them from us in Texas.

We’re also proud of our Quorum Breakers. The brave Texas Reps that shut down TX Leg, and used their enforced exodus fm TX to encourage NY, IL and CA to create more blue districts.

…another reason I get fed up of Left’s “Dems aren’t fighting” lie.
February 5, 2026 at 3:25 AM
You really don’t get that you delivered an “own goal”, effectively defeating your entire premise.
