whatever. I may make a tool that reposts my mastodon posts here so I don't have to do it twice.

Breathtaking shot from Breckenridge, Colorado 🇺🇸

A display of multiple stacked rainbows arcing over the forests of central Oregon — an extremely rare optical phenomenon that happens when sunlight scatters through layers of rain at just the right angles.

Making a crockpot of chili (6 hours mode).

Talking to myself (well, to the chili ingredients).

To the chili - next beer at 4:30.

To the can of beans - you go in at 5.

To the masa flour - you go in at 6. No, 6:30. Bring a friend.

God bless Alan Rickman. This is immortality. #AlanRickman

@iflscience.com asking how the world will end tomorrow, my reply:

I hold with those who favor fire, but ICE is also nice, and will suffice.

9th grade poetry for the win, thank you Bob Mullen.

"You treated a symptom - the disease goes merrily on." - BJ after Hawkeye removes a healthy appendix in order to get a careless and reckless colonel out of the war.

Came to mind as in the same hour as Charlie Kirk was killed, there was a school shooting in Colorado. #MASH

Tonight, I'm going to waste an evening with Tom Lehrer.

RIP, and thank you, not just for the music, but the gift of making it public domain so we can enjoy it forever without some 'estate' or record label telling us we can't. #riptomlehrer #TomLehrer

Dear: @thinkbigpicture.substack.com.web.brid.gy

My only problem with your latest post is that while, yeah, yay for new energy...GenX isn't dead yet.

I am not too keen that after living under my parents rules for 35 years, I now should feel forced to live under my children's. When is *our* time?

To anybody who thinks the #Musk #Epstein post matters in the slightest?

I've got a #bridge to sell you. Mind you, slightly damaged by underwater #drones, but supposedly safe to re-open, promise.

at a coffee shop outside Leesburg.

they've got a mellow radio playlist going.and Afternoon Delight just came up...

and I look around and think I'm the only one in the entire place who was alive when it was originally a hit.

Looking at the current #CostCo 'coupon' book (well, they are just discounts now, no more coupon-clipping), and there is a "Men's Tech Short" short #pants by Eddie Bauer.

They've got AI built in them? Is Bauer a tech-bro?

Do they #bitcoin mine by using the energy generated as you walk around?

So kids and sensitive adults it seems, should be protected from unusual time signatures and polyphonic chord progressions, I suppose including a few tritones.

The Dance of Maya, an *instrumental* from Mahavishnu Orchestra's first album, is labeled '[Explicit]' on Amazon Music.

Someone should do a study of social media, blog, and article posts to see if there's been a noticeable increase in how many 5-letter words are used since #Wordle came along.

When your brain finishes a sentence or title...

There's a piece by #Hovhaness called "Prelude and Quadruple Fugue", from his neo-classical works (most of his works I'd call neo-romantic).

But every time, my brain finishes it as "Prelude and Quadruple Bypass"

aboutjws.info/jottings/ind....

Ok, so unlike some who were seeing this for the first time today/this week, I've known the film and the material for MANY years.

But here we are, the first new release of the film's 4K master along with the Atmos 7.2 soundtrack.

And...wow.

Dear Vance: you hear the instructions, "No photos in the Sistine Chapel" more times on a #Vatican tour than you would hear "keep your hands and arms inside the vehicle at all times" over a week at Disney World.

If you glance at Google news, and it thinks you're interested in #PinkFloyd, you might be seeing articles from Forbes about how Pink Floyd has a new release topping charts.

Bogus. The releases are just CD pressings of really REALLY crappy bootlegs, all from the pre-Dark Side era, only in Europe.

Sigh. great temps...but WINDS.

I wanna bike, as it is 65 now and going to 78-80...

...but they're talking 17mph winds, which means highly likely i'll be facing a headwind that will make it faster for me if i just walked to where i might go.
