Well, been on BSky for about a year, but with all these new followers & users, I will reintroduce myself!

I'm Jess! Also known as JWo (Jay-Woah) & I'm over 35 yrs old & a non binary Chinese American born & raised in Mississippi!

Been sewing since I was 4 yrs old. Cosplaying since 2005.

2025 was a rough year from the start. I lost 3 of my aunts, my father also passed, someone we thought was a friend took advantage of us & took $20k from us. But there was some good. I got diagnosed with ADHD & found good meds. I also made these 6 big projects:

Pro tip from a pharmacy technician. If you have any medications, I cannot stress it enough for you all to pick them up today. Especially if they are going to be put back by today for going past due pick up due date. Because new insurance starts January 1st. So whatever you pay now, won't be the same

Disappointed to see Jon Stewart & co joke about masking in public. I do it for my medically fragile daughter (Batten Disease). People not masking properly led to her getting pneumonia, which led to her being on life support, which led to me getting price quotes on her cremation just in case.

Was chatting with a friend who said he had "aged" out of cosplay & I replied "I don't think I will." I thought more on it later & how I am nearing 40 & how I "justify" cosplaying as an older adult.

For me, I try to at least make a few parts of a cosplay a part of my permanent closet. 1/4

Watching the Mythical Kitchen's "Last Meals" ep with @matthewmercer.bsky.social & was surprised to see one of his favorite meals is bok gum gai aka Hainanese chicken! I LOVE this dish & am sad that my husband, @drift0r.bsky.social, isn't a fan of it so I don't cook it often. 🥲

For those who don’t know. Glaze in the context of AI is a technique of making art art confusing to AI while making it virtually unchanged to the human eye.

An Artist using Glaze on their work is effectively saying:

“I in no way consent to my copyrighted works being used by AI in any way”

For further context twitter added a button that allows users to generate ai images using existing art posts from artists. It removes glaze and it basically reskins the artwork by using the existing work as a base. Twitter is no longer a safe space for art
