great effort by hornets. fought till the end. interested to see if the effort stays if the losses keep piling up. 82 combined for lamelo and miller - they are showing out as a fun young duo. might be wrong but think thats the highest combined for a hornets duo ever.

brandon miller showing out in overtime was a thing of beauty with several fugit 3's that were just demoralizing for detroit. team and crowd really rallied around him and lamelo, but miller stepped up when lamelo fouled out again.

the biggest question i have for the hornets right now is disappearance of the midrange from miller's game. he is noticeably bad at getting to the rim and the lack of the mid has exposed that even more.

really like what im seeing from salaun, doing a bit of everything. would like to see him commit to more ball screens though instead of slipping everything. don't know if it's by design but want to see him use his size - especially to help free up miller when lamelo sits.

lamelo is leading the league in 4th quarter scoring. if there was a nba league pass rankings for just 4th quarters, it'd be him. games like the pacers and celtics show he's got to do it consistently before he's taken seriously.

4th quarter melo is a very real thing at this point. that whole organization is probably praying over his ankle braces on a daily basis. a little more consistency and shaking the foul troubles and he could be looking at all nba imo.

encouraged by salaun's start as well. long way to go but created offensive rebounds and made hustle plays. the effort is there and you can see things starting to click for him as he learns with each game. can't teach his size, athleticism, and motor.

jury is still out on coach lee this early on but this type of comeback hasn't been a thing for the hornets in a minute. lamelo's health matters for sure, but team is playing solid defense and energetic offense even when down which is encouraging.
