A theatre I truly fell in love with during my time in Des Moines was Tallgrass Theatre Company. Not only did they survive the pandemic, but they bought a space and built a brand new theatre out of that found space DURING the pandemic. Also, they just announced their 20th anniversary season!!

I had a desk not 10 feet from Ian when working for the House TheatRE. I’d walk into the office, receive a daily barrage of insults for my poor lunch choices, & then I’d wait for him to spill some knowledge that a 24 y/o theatre wannabe needed to hear - whether I liked what I heard or not.
