well the repair paper said the eta was 3-5 days, and i’ve been a sitting duck here for almost five.
so i called the comp shomp to see where they’re at and the guy says it’s only 50% complete, meaning there’s about 30 hours left to go.

following up from yesterday,
i took the comp over to the geek squad and good news is the files are retrievable.
turns out there was this broken piece of plastic that the port prongs have to rest on. if i hadn’t found that in the nooks and crannies of my tower i would’ve been focked.

well at least i know what the issue is, apparently the sata port on my hard drive has just up and broke off.
really nice of them to build it that way so that can just happen real easily.
