Can’t be moving to this app without my favourite post ever.

(1) If God exists, God would create the perfect world.
(2) In the perfect world I am a Jedi.
(3) I am not a Jedi
Therefore (C) God does not exist.
Forgot to post here, but I run a substack on science and philosopy. Here is my latest post on Schellenbergs Hiddenness argument where I take a devils advocate stance against it open.substack.com/pub/rickardk...

Only the sith deals in absolutes.
I forgot Jesus is where "anyone who is not with me is against me" came from.

There is no bio-mechanical difference between macro and micro evolution.

How can I, someone how doesn't live in the US, help you all deal with the coming 4 years? So far it seems to be very very bad.

You mentioned in a video about a year ago that you had a scripted video ready on the evolutionary fossil lineage of hominids. Any plans on releasing it? Or did I miss it?

I think one of the biggest shocks in my life growing up was realising that not believing in God or any higher power was actually a minority.

At one moment, God is apparently fully understandable when it comes to morality, sexual relationships, church authority etc. But when the same people are confronted with uncomfortable ideas such as cancer in children, suffering of animals, traumas etc God suddenly ”works in mysterious ways”.
Theologians really just be asserting things about God with such confidence and authority, as if they themselves were the source of divine wisdom.

Jesus: ''Take care of the poor, the minority, the needy and exposed''

Bishop Mariann Budde: ''Take care of the poor, the minority, the needy and exposed''

Maga: ''HATE SPEECH!!!!!''

Please make it make sense to me.

We have free healthcare in Sweden, or as free as it gets, if you go above 100$ per year you get charged 0. On top of this, when I was living in poverty I told them I could not pay and they simply wrote it off. I dare anyone to say Sweden is a communist country.
People willing to give so much grace to a man doing a nazi salute twice who has been retweeting Holocaust deniers and agreed with an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory publicly.

But they'll instantly call you a communist if you say that everyone should have free healthcare

Spending less time on social media and more time reading books has had a massive impact on my mental health. For years I knew it would, but its hard to stop doing something that you are addicted to. I still get those ”debate me bro” itches but I just remind myself debates are useless.

Does anyone here have recommendations for books in philosophy of language?

If I got a nickle for each time someone told me I was going to hell, a failure of a human or even told me I ought to die due to my atheism I would be very rich.
I find it grating when, out of nowhere, someone jumps into a thread to promote an ideology that announces me worthy of death and eternal torment for my unbelief.

One of my favourite pieces of evidence in favour of evolution is our inability to synthesize vitamin C. We still have the genes, its just broken, and its broken in the exact same place in all great apes. Other more distant relatives such as Tarsirs do not lack this ability.

Twitter has limited the amount of responses you can post in a day and you have to register your phone number if you want more? What kind of dystopia has that website become?
January 4, 2025 at 11:20 PM
Aight, twitter philosophy is still hilariously bad. Maybe I just shouldn't have logged in again. Or maybe I just shouldn't engage in philosophy at all on the internet and just stick to reading and writing on my own.

We all have our opinions in what we believe is the truth and one of the most important subjects for many people is the belief in whether a God exists or not. But in the end it (theism) will (most likely) remain just a philosophical, theological and explanatory proposition for our reality.

I remember my first introduction to Bayes theorem being in my forensic science class during highschool, I had no idea at the time how widely used it was in philosophy.
