What Dan Trachtenberg began in Prey continues here in another stand alone film, using the Predator (Yautja) named Dek as the protagonist. With Elle Fanning’s Thia a Weyland-Yutani synth as a bridge between the Alien & Predator series. I think this is the best way this has been done to date, Loved it

Tron Legacy didn’t perform as hoped, but I loved it. The design, & look were brilliant. It had flaws sure, the de-aging wasn’t perfected yet. They should have had more of the Tron character, but it is a good film. To dump all of that for a whole new story in Tron Ares, I think that was a mistake.

Guillermo del Toro’s masterpiece, Frankenstein. I got to see it projected in 35mm at the Plaza in ATL- the cinematography beautiful and production design was brilliant. The story was totally enjoyable. Loved it!

The amazingly talented Drew Struzan has died. Everyone knows his work but few know his name. I’m honored to have met him. These are just a few of his posters. He sometimes posed for them himself, creating a style all his own, that so many that come after have been inspired by.

RIP Robert Redford. What an amazing career - the film world lost a giant. He gave us the Sundance institute, which gave us so many filmmakers over the years.

I’ve seen The Matirx so many times. I was listening to Rage Against the Machine today, because 2025. It’s thematically beautiful that “Wake Up” was used as the final song in The Matrix, I knew they used the song, I never connected the title of the song to the meaning of the ending. Pitch perfect

Who designed the disc art for the Lethal Weapon 4k steelbook release? This image is over the top. Yes there’s an argument to be made that it is in the movie, but it was a single beat in a nuanced film, poster art should reflect the tone of the film, I feel this misses the mark.

RIP Gene Hackman 95 his wife 63 (and dog too). He was brilliant actor French Connection, The Conversation and its pseudo sequel Enemy of the State, Superman, The Birdcage, Unforgiven, so many others! Not cool universe. These things usually happen in 3’s. Let’s hope this counts as two after Orci.

Go sports! 🏈 I successfully avoided all of the Bowl of Super. Though I realized I was recently in the city of the eagle. 🦅

I’m making the point of avoiding all things Super Bowl today. For those who enjoy the game, have fun. For those like me who love the commercials, most have been aired already, I’ll catch the few I missed later.

Brilliant! SE7EN is amazing. Pitch perfect. I have seen this film dozens of times since seeing it in theaters during its initially release. The cinematography is absolutely stunning. The 4k transfer is so beautiful. The shots in this film… something to aspire to. Fincher is a genius. Happy Friday

Have you ever finished an intense project, 15 day high pressure, tight deadline 12-16 hrs days…then you need a week to disconnect / unplug/ reboot before you can tackle the next challenge? If it was another project ready to go I think I could do it, but being in prep after a big project is hard.
