So Square-Enix finally remembered they put The Last Remnant on the eShop. It's literally NEVER been on sale there before.

The current price (as of November 6, 2025) is $19.99 (the regular retail price) for the PS4 version on Playstation Store and the current sale price of $7.99 for the Switch version on Nintendo eShop. The Playstation Store price line, in blue, makes regular dips from its retail price to sale prices since its release in 2021. Meanwhile, the Nintendo eShop price line, in red, stays solidly at retail price from its release in mid-2019 to now, when it finally makes a dip down to the current price.

Partway through this exercise I learned that only Game Boy Color supports tile mirroring but by that point I had really grown attached to the symmetrical design scheme and I still managed to end up with exactly 128 tiles (including the empty tile) #pixelart #gameboy

The goal was to use background tiles instead of sprites to create a standard French-suited deck with Jokers, and the top half of the image has all of the tiles organized into a tileset. The bottom half of the image shows example cards composed of these tiles: the Ace of Spades, the Queen of Hearts, the 10 of Clubs, the 7 of Diamonds, a Joker, and the reverse side of a card. The 10 of Clubs and 7 of Diamonds show that numbered cards (besides Aces) use two pips regardless of rank as a space-saving measure.
