He already owns Trump! It’s your Job to emasculate Trump at the mid terms isn’t it?
February 7, 2026 at 10:18 PM
Presumably paid to wait? 1) EmasculateTrump at the mid terms. 2) Arm Ukraine with long range weapons plus re-supply their air defences. 3) Appropriate the Russian assets (starting with those held in Belgium) and use these to finance item 2. Who cares about the “legality”?
Good night from the UK!

Doubt he can “take” Estonia if he’s still bogged down in Ukraine. Europe needs to stop wiping Trump’s ass and get organised. Maybe start selling off some of the $3.6 trillion US bonds we hold. Even Trump might get the message. Also push the Euro as an alternative reserve currency.

Russia must hate fighting against a variety of AFVs. Ukraine must know every characteristic of Russian armour. Same goes for military aviation. When (at last) European F-16 operators sent their jets to Ukraine this was potentially a game changer. Same goes for Mirage 2000s.

Let’s hope that the Orange Idiot gets elected out before we find out who’s right. Did you ever serve in USAFE?
February 7, 2026 at 9:11 PM
Nukes are an expensive irrelevance. The UK and France have sufficient. I expect Russia can’t afford to ensure that theirs are all operational. As for Estonia we’re already deployed there. Thanks to Putin’s lack of foresight Finland and Sweden are now NATO members. Both well placed to assist Estonia.
February 7, 2026 at 9:01 PM
Ok alt. I believe the opposite. If the EU organise themselves militarily Putin would shit his pants. We easily outspend Russia without wrecking our economies. I hope we can rely on the US as a NATO ally but if necessary we can manage without you. Hope not. I’ve been a supporter of USAFE for years.
February 7, 2026 at 8:46 PM
Agree partly. The EU outspends Russia militarily. They do this spending a much smaller fraction of their gdp. I’m guessing they have nothing to fear except fear itself.
February 7, 2026 at 8:17 PM
Wishing you good luck from across the pond. We miss you as reliable allies.
February 7, 2026 at 8:07 PM
That’s amazing! Doesn’t sound like a ruined life to me.
February 7, 2026 at 11:42 AM
Astonishing that even across the pond we don’t expect better.
February 6, 2026 at 7:26 PM
He really is a wanker’s wanker.
January 26, 2026 at 6:30 PM
Presumably not a Paisley Athletic shirt?
January 25, 2026 at 8:03 PM
I’m an atheist but I think Kristi Noem might be the devil incarnate.
January 25, 2026 at 7:59 PM
Imagine if the Minnesota Guard are already deployed?
January 16, 2026 at 6:45 PM
As useless as a chocolate teapot.
November 24, 2025 at 9:13 PM
I think your Observer article is remarkably restrained given everything that you and your colleagues endured. The country was indeed faced by “blithe complacency”.
Thank you Doctor Clarke.

You telling me that I (from across the Pond) can stop saving up for a flight. I was planning to check out that pizza restaurant.
November 15, 2025 at 6:37 PM
Comment of the week!
November 15, 2025 at 6:32 PM
And all for “exaggerating” Trump’s role in encouraging insurrection. What on earth will the BBC do when the Epstein Files are released?
November 9, 2025 at 8:27 PM
Absolutely bloody ridiculous.
November 9, 2025 at 8:20 PM
Well said!
October 30, 2025 at 7:56 PM
He’s a car boot sale version of Trump. Chucked in a skip when he doesn’t sell.
October 26, 2025 at 8:19 PM
From across “The Pond” we need you back USA.
October 18, 2025 at 6:07 PM
Or with pixelated faces accused of? Whatever.
