It was international dog day yesterday. I drew this of our pup. She's a Borador (Border Collie/Lab). Tony calls her a Bored-ador.
Our kids laugh because the digital photo frame only shows them if they happen to be holding the dog. Haha. Move over kids, there's a new snuggler in town.

Hey guys! How are you doing? Remembering to breathe? I took some time today to get into that lovely make-something headspace. I'm so close to finishing this piece. I pulled it off the frame and I'll tie up loose ends and weave them back into the rug.

I'm still givin'er on the rag rugs. This one is getting closer to the finish line. I had a loose plan at the beginning for a pattern but it quickly devolved. So we'll see. I'm learning new techniques with every rug.

My current rag rug project is slow going. An act of self care, I'm figuring it out as I go. There is magic in the act of making, doing, working with one's hands. It facilitates mental processing: thinking at the speed of doing.

Sometimes I draw comics of my life. Like a journal. It's a nice break from work life, an act of self care. As a creative professional I find these kinds of projects are essential to keeping me engaged, flowing.
