These are insect hotels at the very swell Kruckeberg Garden. Fall is in the air. Praying for rain. It’s incredibly dry.
A wooden structure a foot deep and 6’x6’ square is filled with stacked stones, pieces of wood, small terra cotta pots, bricks etc. All the various negative spaces give beneficial insects a place to live. An insect hotel.
