Essen Spiel hall 3 is not a fun experience. I will never ever complain about how busy a wargaming miniature convention again. That and several times almost braking my shins on people’s large camping trolleys. I really am turning into the grumpy old man.

@saffronolive.bsky.social I was watching your eggs history deck, for mtg, and wondered if you have watched this video of the original extended deck. youtu.be/ezpEz1rC0-g?...

When you discover a new game and with all enthusiasm dive into it, before further research realise the company has folded. Le sigh…

Are there any particular ww2 wargames that support the crossing over of kit between the Early/Mid/late war periods? The more research I keep doing the more of a blur of material it becomes as armies throw everything and the kitchen sink.

Actually stood in Element Games, UK, thinking about what I should pick up before tariffs hit prices. Didn’t know trips to a gaming shop would turn into my old Economics A-Level.

Anyone know what size round bases are used for historical command models? Bought some imperial Romans and includes a chap on a horse.

Hundred Years War or War of the Roses? Can’t make my mind up to go down the hobby rabbit hole this year.

I was having a conversation at our local gaming club and said I was looking forward to retirement, so I could hobby more. A person said that’s when things start to go wrong. Wow, did that hit me hard.

So with Battleground this weekend I’m finally thinking about Baccus 6mm and dipping my toe into the American Civil War. Any recommendations on books that go into orders of battle and map movements during this period?

Is there a list made yet of wargaming companies to follow on here? Be really nice to show support and maybe spend some pennies.
