The past 6ish months I’ve been knee deep in department of transportation data and today I was on the phone with the stats department at bureau of labor. My heart hurts worrying about all the important data that probably won’t get collected due to this administration.

Every review of AI is like: This isn’t very useful and it makes it harder to do simple tasks than if I just did it myself. Riddled with errors. Can’t see anyone using this. I feel stupider having tried this. That said I believe it will soon make human cognition redundant and eradicate us all.

Data.gov is no longer showing the number of available datasets on its homepage. To me, this means it’s going to be more difficult to see how many data sets they’re deleting.

A magical feeling in martial arts: when you’re holding pads for someone and everything is syncing. You don’t even need to call out combos and your combos get more complex. More offensive. Your partner blocks and counters perfectly. You can see them get tired. You feel happy to hold pads.
