What an evening! It was such a pleasure meeting and chatting with the fantastic author of Glasgow Boys, @margaretmcdonald.bsky.social
It was enlightening to hear about her approach to building characters, the demands of the publishing industry, and tips on how to approach agents. 🌟

Met Glasgow artist, writer/poet and broadcaster @nemesis4u.bsky.social 🎨
His passion for the city shines through in Ghlaschu 850 and his new drawings exploring Glasgow’s history, so full of depth and imagination. ✨
It was an inspiring and enriching morning. 🌞🎨

At the Edinburgh Book Festival, I got to meet David Keenan.

He talked about how his books aren’t about meaning, but about the experience of reading them. That really got me thinking, as an aspiring writer, about the role of the reader and how much their experience shapes a story.

It was fantastic day at the Edinburgh Book Festival.

What stayed with me from the Scottish Writing is Thriving are reflections of some wonderful Scottish authors on obsession in writing.
It left me wondering - how do my own obsessions fit into my journey to becoming a writer?
