I had the pleasure of attending a @starshiprobots.bsky.social event recently and seeing their extremely cute robots in action. I'd certainly love them to deliver to me up in Newcastle!
This week I learnt cute delivery robots are illegal in the UK because a law ***from 1835*** still governs how things move on British pavements. 🧵

Climate change costs lives but cheaper energy saves lives. Both are inconvenient truths if you want a neat, ideologically coherent worldview, so most people ignore one.

We have struggled with industrial strategies in the past. But many countries (Germany, Taiwan, France, US, China) have implemented strategies that spurred growth, secured leadership in emerging sectors, and strengthened natsec.
