The community garden at St Peter's Dinas Powys looks lovely! Lots of veg. @dioceseofllandaff.bsky.social

Just like ours at St Peter's. We have a stumpy tower through lack of money. The single bell is above the porch and the ropes feed down into the 'bell tower' the slim bit to the left of the front gate.

A lovely sunny day

Getting ready for the #DPVC community garden open day. Fire pit tidy and ready for action. #communitygarden #dinaspowys

Work begins at St Peter's #Dinaspowys on stonework and vestry roof. Built 1929/30 to plans by John Coates Carter, some of the stone came from demolished buildings at Cyfarthfa Ironworks which had closed in 1928.

This was a great Saturday afternoon. Hilary Summers, Neal Davies, Cwmbran Baroque and the St Julians Ensemble (who had 20 mins rehearsal and hadn't sung together for 30 years!) to celebrate an inspirational music teacher's 90th birthday #Newport

Assume it was the original door into the nave (14th century) before the porch was built in the late 15th century. Window was probably to do with letting more light in. Only been stained glass since Victorian restoration and one of the windows in the north aisle was bricked in around the same time.

A great find at St Andrew's #DinasPowys replacing the old heating pipes uncovered an old doorway. Probably replaced in 15 century by the new porch. Identified by the lime wash on either side. Half replaced by a window above.

This was such a lovely morning with Rainbows and Guides in the garden at St Peter's
