Not really a lumberjack. Enjoys fixing things on the Mount Vernon Trail.
Train autists are so silly. Don’t they know that they could be fixated on collecting items related to the history of the Navy and Marine Memorial instead?

One of my ASD special interests is the Navy and Marine Memorial. After several months of archival research I finally found (and soon will own) a photo of Ernesto Begni del Piatta, the sculptor of the monument. I hope to write the tragic story of the monument in the near future.

Last day! We're half way to our goal.
As an all-volunteer group, every dollar we receive goes towards improving the trail. Nearly 2/3rds of our donations are received in December, and the amount raised determines what additional work we can take on.

FoMVT has made $1.7 million in improvements in the last 5 years, starting with 1 volunteer event leader. We've got a team of 20 now and are performing complex repairs and making investments like new water fountains. If you appreciate the difference on the trail, I'll appreciate your donation.
💥 Your gift can go twice as far!
Right now, every dollar you give to the Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail will be matched — doubling the impact on safer crossings, smoother pavement, cleaner views, and thriving nature.
Don’t wait — matching ends soon!

One year ago I was freezing in an alley in DC making a working Carla Cargo bike trailer out of parts from multiple trailers. One of the most fun days of my life.

Just $1,649 away from reaching our $10k match. Had a great meeting with NPS today to discuss ways we can increase our support for the trail in 2026. Make a donation at mountvernontrail.org/donate

No more ka-chunks on this bridge by the airport.
Wow what a difference a little bit of cold patch can make! This was an 1.5 inch gap between the trail and the bridge. Thanks to the work of our volunteers you can now glide over and not even feel the difference.
