On the walk home from my eye appointment downtown Sac, I decided to stop in at Sana’a Cafe on K Street for the first time. Ordered an iced pistachio latte and this simple yet amazingly delicious honeycomb bread. 👍🏻 😋

Over the years, it’s been my pleasure to make these treats for friends. 🏳️‍🌈

Big cowboy ribeye I picked up from Hensleigh Healthy Beef at the Sacramento Midtown Farmer’s Market yesterday. This’ll be about three meals for me. Doing a low and slow, reverse sear cook. #SundayDinner

My folks in N MN are trying to identify what kind of bird this is that has started visiting their new camera-backed feeder. Any ideas? 😂🤷‍♀️

My amazing belated birthday dinner tonight at Cap G:

Braised lamb shank, ravioli in a brown butter beurre blanc sauce w/sun-dried tomatoes + asparagus. Paired w/2018 Orin Swift Machete red wine.

Kudos to chef - this dish is super delicious.

Me, back in the day, protecting the server room.

May the Fourth be with you…

Ok, this Dubai Chocolate bar had a little issue coming out of the mold, so using for QA purposes.

Oddly addictive. Not as sweet as I feared, dark chocolate gives it a nice balance. I’m not 100% sure if filling is too thick as some I’ve seen on socials are “oozier”. Sharing w/pals to get feedback.

Midtown Farner’s Market (Sacramento) haul from this morning. A little bit of everything delish but I think I’m most excited about the honeycomb and the Saffron Cardamon Turkish coffee.

So I know I avoided the initial Dubai chocolate bar craze, but for some reason* I decided today I was going to take a swing at it.

*Reason: people keep asking me about it. 😂

Just handed off 300-piece order for one of my Kings STH “neighbors” I’ve been working on this week, after hours.

My kitchen is a disaster, I’m heading out for dinner. 😂

Sneak peek of treats:

I love lamb, especially on this particular holiday. When I was growing up, the only time we had lamb was at Easter in Alaska, when the church Brotherhood would roast a whole lamb outside for after services. If you were raised up Eastern Orthodox, ya know.

Finished cake balls. Some went to the staff here at the hotel for Easter because they call me the “Infamous Ms. Tyrus” and I kinda like that. 😂
April 21, 2025 at 2:33 AM
I haven’t made cake pops in forever because they aren’t part of my line card anymore, but I’m making a batch for Easter and *damn* I had forgotten how yummy a fresh slice of vanilla cake is with frosting slathered on it.

(Yeah, I snagged a corner piece for myself 😂😇)

It’s that time of year. Here’s hoping my little LLC survives another year.

Whipped up some treats for a baby shower my BFF is hosting.

The folks who wouldn’t sacrifice for the greater good by wearing a simple mask during a PANDEMIC now expect me to joyfully/patriotically sacrifice my 401K for a ChatGPT-generated tariff policy?

Nobody is playing chess. Or checkers. They’re playing golf. 🤦‍♀️

My local butcher in East Sacramento, V.Miller, closed 😥 but they pointed customers to one of their suppliers and this week I got my first delivery from Stemple Creek Ranch in Marin County.

I’m giving this cowboy ribeye the reverse-sear treatment.

I know I say this about every batch of toffee pretzel crunch I make, but this may be the tastiest batch I’ve made. 😂👍🏻

Me: ready to flip over the table, sell everything and move to remote cabin in MN to ride out next 3+ years.

Me changing my mind when my folks post a picture today from their remote cabin in MN:

When I’m stressed, making goodies helps calm me. Tariffs, the market, the Kings, it’s been one of those days…

These cinnamon roll marshmallows have a white chocolate cream cheese drizzle and honey glazed pecan topping.

Sold Kings tix to Celtics fan so watching game from home. 🤷‍♀️💰

Made a rack of lamb & dug deep into cellar for a red wine to pair with. This ‘13 Talbott Diamond T Vineyards Pinot Noir is probably outside official drinking window but it was super nice. Soft yet still held some spice + structure.

Bourbon blackberry jam with fresh fruit from today’s farmers market.

Fun memory even tho the Warriors went 26–56 that year. Was some guy’s rookie season… 😇 #NBA

Tech vendor suite - the good ol’ days.

Just a little something-something I had custom made for my fellow Kings fans.

Ticket sales start today! Love the Off the Rails Whiskey Festival in Sacramento! This year: June 13, 2025 at the Railroad Museum.

I’ve been to a *bunch* of tasting events, large and small and Jason Lockard really puts on a great party.
