After rereading Timothy Snyder's book, On Tyranny, I was again reminded about the importance of language in resisting totalitarianism. Tyrannical governments will use language to debase, dehumanize, and lead their followers away from objective truth that does not fit their agenda. Language matters.

Tyranny, authoritarianism, fascism, and totalitarianism must be resisted, and the underlying mechanisms that allow such systems to take root in a free nation must be destroyed if such a nation is to be truly free.
