Kennedy Quay, Cork city in September 1985 when warships of the U.S.A. and the Soviet Union docked practically side by side. There wasn’t to be any engagement between the superpowers however. When questioned, Rear Admiral Gromov curtly responded that “There won’t be any contact with the Americans".
