I can tell that some MAGA pastors are tired of defending Trump/MAGA when they get obsessed with sports. Honestly, it's healthier. Sports is the one place you can completely lose objectivity, be tribal, and it's fine.

Honestly, the shutdown government is still too much government for the new breed of so-called "small government" folks. They don't actually want a government at all. They just want to let Trump do whatever he wants, without a budget, oversight, voting, checks or balances, etc.

Despite what some politically-captured, wealthy, pastor/influencers might say, there are plenty of places in the Bible that indicate "the government" is supposed to help the poor, not just "individuals" or "the church." Using taxes to help the poor isn't evil. It is a mark of righteousness.
