Twelve Days of Christmas is a perfectly themed shedding game for this time of year. I don't think it's as flexible as most, but for a family style card game this has been popular.

Coup is one of the games I have taught most, likely to over a hundred people, and the success rate is extremely high. It's so quick and simple and you can lie as much or as little as you want, you can make anything work. I've logged nearly 100 plays and it never gets old!

Faraway is a delightful, very quick game of planning. So you do is lay down a row of 8 cards, setting up sitting opportunities that are resolved in reverse order. It's not often when a game feels genuinely new.

Even friends averse to social deduction games have enjoyed Inside Job, as the regular course of trick taking card play will arouse suspicion and generate accusations. I am somewhat resistant to the renaissance in trick taking games, but this one stands out.

I don't like many randomize and record games, as they are very samey, but Lost Cities: Roll & Write has been very brutal almost every time I've played, filled with groans and pleading requests to the dice gods.

The trick taking space is getting really crowded, but Five Three Five is a shedding game that works well and actually feels unique. You can add to the sets that have been played, which are limited in size, and there is a fun mechanism that forces a reset in play.

Hooky is an approachable, but surprisingly challenging deduction game that forces you to take some logical leaps to score well.

Fun Facts is a highly involving party game that facilitates fascinating discussions. You not only get to see your fellow players' opinions, but you are able to see how players and their preferences are perceived, which I find very fun.

Seas of Strife is a trick avoidance game that accommodates up to six players and I enjoy it most at higher player counts. For those that enjoy card games, it is relaxing and easy to learn, but it stil provides a bit of challenge and rewards careful play.

Trio is an addictive mix of memory, deduction and cooperation to find three cards of the same number.
The artwork is attractive, the rules are easy to teach and learn, and it's very enjoyable to play as teams.
