In our house we say the ADHD raccoon opened that. I don’t know that a box has ever been opened correctly here. 😂

I feel like we’re at the point in the movie where the characters realize no one is coming to save them and they have to do it themselves.

Makes this verse come to mind: They cried out, “Away with him, away with him, crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.”” John‬ ‭19‬:‭15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

2/2 it’s almost like we’ve been here before. These words seem to have new weight tonight.

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” The Declaration of Independence 1/2

Same. There were grand plans for snow forts and piles of snow balls. These poor Texas children. 😂

Came here to say this. Unless you live in a state that doesn’t freak out when a snowflake falls.

My son was overjoyed to see M. Salah back in the lineup for #LFC after AFCON. Marseille had some of the most elegant tifos I’ve ever seen. Gearing up for a nice afternoon of football. While I will always love #CHE (come on you blues), it’s fun to watch my 9 yr old develop his own fandoms. #YNWA

I love that she’s out there saying everything I’ve wished congress would say for years now.
Crockett: "You only love enforcement when they're going after Black, brown, immigrants, that kind of folk. But on January 6, you didn't care about law enforcement."

One of my new life goals is to live in such a way that people don’t think my plane has turned around because I died. I feel like this far I have achieved it but I hope to continue to do so. #wow

and then the bus driver just leaves and there’s no apparent immediate punishment.
i feel like the viral bus thread resonates because at every step of the way you're like "ok surely this will be resolved shortly, any second now," which seems like what all the passengers are also thinking. then the fact that the situation doesn't resolve and the bus just keeps going is an Allegory

She’s my favorite on SNL right now (even if I did have to Google the whole button thing).

I had an idea similar to this for a story. Of course mine was something benign like an airport shuttle driver getting tired of driving in circles and wanting adventure. This whole thread sounds more traumatic.
I just woke up from a nap and somehow while I was asleep, everyone on the bus has figured out we are not going to the right place

I’m so tired. How do they read the beatitudes and come away from it with the feeling that their response in this situation is justified? All I know is historically speaking when the government and church are on the same side like this it doesn’t go well.

I don’t know. Maybe it’s my audhd talking but I grew up in the era of the WWJD bracelets. And I find it ironic that the TGC article is a whole bunch of “here’s how protesters are violating your rights” and nothing about what Jesus might do in the situation. #churchsky #WWJD
January 20, 2026 at 1:14 AM
I don’t know. I feel like Jesus talks a lot about turning the other cheek, and it’s really interesting to me that the Gospel Coalition literally had zero advice on how to engage with with protesters in a Christ like fashion, only a list of rights that a church can enforce. 3/3 #sbc

I know several churches in my part of the US who regularly stump for the President and hold patriotic Sundays that rival Christmas pageants. I also think that Keven Ezell has forgotten that Jesus was the original church disrupter. 2/3
January 20, 2026 at 1:14 AM
Weirdly there’s nothing in this article about engaging with the protestors in good faith, hearing them out or inviting them to talk after the service. There’s a whole lot of reaction and pearl clutching. The part about church not being political theater was particularly funny since 1/3

Danish Parliament Deputy Speaker Lars-Christian Brask:

"If I could come with some advice, it would be for the Senate & House to start to take control of political power in America because with this erratic & mad behaviour, you have to ask the question, is the President capable of running the US?"
