I help charity leaders to multiply major gift fundraising results for their favorite causes (and have fun doing it) with systems, psychology, sanity, and sacredness.

Are you leading a small charity ($500K to $2M) and thinking about adding a major gift strategy? Here are a few key things to consider:
As I learn more (daily) about the work of Sinapis and their network, one thing has become clear.

The stories I’m seeing of entrepreneurs creating jobs are not isolated wins. These are repeatable patterns.

The article says confidence is the missing ingredient. Agreed - but not the puffed-up kind. Real confidence grows from clarity.

💥 Breakthru Guide “Top Performer” Series 💥

Each Tuesday or Wednesday, I’m resurfacing one of the most-shared and debated Breakthru Guides from the last two years - the ones that got fundraisers talking, nodding, or occasionally arguing (the good kind).

One million lives flourishing by 2032.

At Sinapis, we are helping entrepreneurs build businesses that last. Teams that grow. Communities that become less dependent on crisis response over time.

One thing I’m learning as The Clear-Eyed series unfolds. When writing gets clearer, audiences get more specific.

This week’s Breakthru Guide, “Borrowed Anxiety,” is written for people doing real major gift work and feeling pressure that doesn’t quite belong to them.

Quick heads up for anyone on the frontlines of major gift fundraising.

Last week’s Breakthru Guide got two very different responses. Two people with significant major gift responsibility wrote:
“Honestly - this might be your best email/blog yet.”

Here’s a sentence I hear from major gift fundraisers: “I don’t think I’m doing the wrong things… but it still feels off.”

Today’s Breakthru Guide explores borrowed anxiety. The pressure that doesn’t start with the fundraiser, but ends up living in their body anyway.

Time for some Saturday Standouts!

One of my favorite things in the world is watching charity leaders experience breakthroughs in major gift fundraising… Those moments when the conversation clicks, the strategy shifts, and generosity flows.

A lot of major gift fundraisers are carrying more anxiety than they realize.

It’s not about bad work.
They’re not behind.
It’s primarily because leadership concern shows up as urgency, and urgency travels.

Not every entrepreneur creates impact at the same scale.

This is a great testimony from Dennis Bett of Deed Technologies about Sinapis’ Ascent Program.

Some people I deeply respect say that Sinapis is one of the finest accelerators on the continent of Africa.

And now, in their Ascent program, they are integrating capital (up to USD$95k) alongside best-in-class mentorship and strategic support.
