A ligand-binding sensor domain got a tiny insertion from cytochrome c, which contained a heme-binding motif, and now it is a nitric oxide sensor. As simple as that: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

I've just learnt about this - a really cool platform for annotating new bacterial genomes and metagenomes. A very intuitive, biologist-friendly interface and a powerful gene neighborhood tool. So, if you have a new (meta)genome - don't go anywhere else. It's free (I don't know why -)) - seqhub.org

I've asked ChatGPT about my name.
The two spellings Zhulin and Jouline are both transliterations of the same original Russian surname Жулин — but they follow different transliteration conventions: Zhulin Anglo-style transliteration, Jouline French-style transliteration. Are we clear now :-)?
