I write stuff.
The ultimate downfall of America will be the fact that so many chose to be too stupid to realize that we put really stupid people in charge of important shit.
Noem: "They aren't just liberals anymore. If you look at the Democrat Party, they're a party of communists and marxists and socialists."

I worry that there's no one left to bring us back from the darkness now. www.alreporter.com/2024/12/30/o...
Opinion | America’s moral compass died Sunday
The man who always reminded us of what an American politician could be, and should be, died Sunday. Decency might have died with him.

Three years ago, pretty much every company in America acknowledged a long history of discrimination in hiring and promotion. And there were grand promises to right those wrongs. Last week, those same companies were apologizing to white people for trying equality. www.alreporter.com/2024/12/04/o...
Opinion | We’re sorry, white people
It took three years of diversity and equity efforts before apologies were being issued to white people for subjecting them to diversity.

I can only assume that this is happening because it's just too darn hard to sift through all of the Trump lunacy and put together pieces that adequately capture the danger, ridiculousness and silliness of it all. Much easier to point out the flaws of the normal people.
I think you could argue a bunch of different takes on the Hunter Biden pardon, clearly! People have!

But it seems *INSANE* to have dozens of stories and a fucking live blog on this given everything else that's so much more consequential happening right now.

Can't wait for the pearl clutching from the national media who yawned past Trump appointing his son-in-law's crooked ass father, who Trump pardoned, as ambassador to France.

A Democrat finally made a power move... and it only benefits one person. The summation of the last four years.

This has been obvious for months now. It's one of the biggest reasons disinformation has spread so rapidly. Bullshit gets shared endlessly. Edited, fact checked news stories - not at all. Hope Bluesky never goes down this path.

If only there were a where almost all young people gathered where we could properly educate them on these things. Oh well, maybe telling them to abstain will be enough this year.

If you're writing about Pam Bondi being the new AG nom and the fact she took a $25k bribe from Trump not to go after his scam university isn't in the first two grafs, you're burying the most important info. She was picked because she's a pliable stooge. The end.

This right here can never be said enough. The lack of movement on criminal charges against Trump - specifically for the fake electors scheme - contributed significantly to the ability of the GOP and rightwing media to whitewash the entire thing. And here we are.
Yes but you see over here in the US, Merrick Garland was concerned about the optics of politicization and after all, *that's* what's most important.

If we're going according to the script, Giuliani is next up for AG.

No better encapsulation of the effectiveness of political messaging than conservative voters being outraged over trans women in women's restrooms but just eh over an actual sexual predator being the UNITED STATES ATTORNEY GENERAL.

Seems like a good time to bring up that a Bill Clinton AG nominee was forced to withdraw because she hired a nanny who lacked proper immigration paperwork.

What pisses me off are hosts who continue to miss the easy, obvious pushback that's most relatable to people. Like, "pardon me senator, but that issue has been studied repeatedly by scientists way smarter than you, & you know it. Stop saying untrue things to prop up a crazy person."
Jeez -- Sen. Markwayne Mullin defends RFK Jr's nomination by going full anti-vaxxer and questioning whether vaccines cause autism (they don't)

It's like a completely different world. I can handle disagreement and pointed criticism, but dozens of replies and DMs telling you to die or posting pics of your kid or calling you a pedophile wasn't exactly an awesome user experience. I really hope this place turns into okd school Twitter.
Can’t express enough just how delightful it is to make a post and not have hundreds of hateful replies. Thanks, Bluesky. @bsky.app

I found those post-birth abortions that Trump and the Republicans were talking about. They're here in Alabama, where we are perfectly OK with killing babies once they're out of the womb. www.alreporter.com/2024/11/15/o...
Opinion | Post-birth abortions? Alabama is specializing in them
Alabama lawmakers know that hundreds of newborns are dying each year. They know that many could be saved with basic care.

OK, so here we go. It's time for Democrats to start acting like Republicans. www.alreporter.com/2024/11/14/o...
Opinion | Democrats need to start acting like Republicans
Republicans are masterful at pandering and heaping praises upon themselves. Democrats should give that a shot.
